Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This policy explains how the ParkerTech website (parkertech.co.uk) handles your information. It covers this website only — the products listed on it, such as ParkerMarker and VocMark, are separate services with their own terms and privacy policies.
Who we are
ParkerTech is a small educational-technology business run by Joseph, and is the data controller for this website. For any privacy question, email joseph@parkertech.co.uk.
What we collect
- When you use the contact form — your name, email address and the message you write.
- When you accept analytics — if you accept the cookie banner, Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data: the pages you view, your approximate region, your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
- Automatically — like any website, our host receives technical data such as your IP address and browser type as a standard part of delivering the page.
How we use it
- Contact form data is used only to read and reply to your enquiry. You are not added to any mailing list, and it is not sold or shared for marketing.
- Analytics are used only to understand which parts of the site are useful and to improve it. The data is looked at in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies unless you accept analytics via the banner shown on your first visit.
-
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (such
as
_ga) to recognise return visits and measure usage. They expire after up to two years. - If you decline (or ignore the banner), no analytics cookies are set and nothing is tracked.
- Your choice itself is saved in your browser's local storage — not a cookie — so the banner doesn't ask again. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser; the banner will then reappear.
Services we rely on
A few trusted third parties help run the site. Each only receives the data needed to do its job:
- Web3Forms — delivers contact-form submissions to our inbox.
- Google Analytics — website analytics, only with your consent.
- GitHub Pages — hosts the website.
- Google Fonts — serves the site's fonts.
How long we keep it
- Contact emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted.
- Analytics data is retained by Google according to the property's settings (by default, up to 14 months).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, object to how it's used, or withdraw your consent. Just email joseph@parkertech.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This website is aimed at school staff and decision-makers, not children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children through it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
